Designing for all

Design with people

Including people in the process helps create tools that are considerate of their needs and effective in answering them. Bringing people in usually brings unique insights, and clarifies the design direction.

This can be in the research phase, through co-creation workshops or interviews. It can also be done by testing potential systems with the audience and iterating on them based on their feedback.

“Something to take from design is the human-centeredness: Asking people, putting it in front of them. It’s helpful to go out on the street and ask our community members what they need.

 Katia Tynan

The people you’re designing for can tell you plenty, and they can show you more. [Co-creation sessions are one way] to further incorporate them into your design process.”
